At first I had a really hard time facing life with an amputation. My doctor really helped me get ready for the change as the operation approached and introduced me to Del Bianco P&O. I worked with several of the clinicians with Del Bianco and talked to them about what I wanted to do with my prosthesis. I am construction project planner and manager and have been involved building and planning projects all over North Carolina for 30 years. The thought of not being able to return to work had me very concerned. Del Bianco P&O found the latest technologies that allow me to do what I want to do. I was fit with a Ossur Symbionic leg that has a computer in the prosthetic knee and foot that measures how I walk and adapts to changes in inclines and declines as well my walking speeds. This technology, along with a great fitting socket, have been wonderful for me.
