Maddie Albaneze

MSPO, Resident Prosthetist Orthotist

Maddie first became interested in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics in high school. She was very interested in biology and anatomy, and always looking for extra credit. After winning a science fair sophomore year, one of the judges allowed her to shadow at his Orthotics and Prosthetics clinic. Seeing the world of O&P opened her eyes to a new path. She found herself especially drawn to the hands-on, technical side of the field.

Maddie earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, with a minor in Assistive Technology, from Duquesne University. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) at the University of Pittsburgh. Throughout undergrad and grad school, she worked as an orthotics technician in a central fabrication lab, building a variety of lower extremity braces. This job allowed her to put what she was learning in class directly into practice. While the role gave her a strong foundation in fabrication techniques, she never had the chance to meet the patients behind the devices she made.

Maddie is excited to bring her fabrication background full circle at Del Bianco Prosthetics and Orthotics. She looks forward to building genuine relationships with her patients, taking the time to truly listen to their stories and understand their goals. Maddie enjoys working closely with people and values the collaborative process of working alongside a care team to create the best possible devices to help patients move more freely and confidently.
