Laura is an ABC certified Orthotist and Resident Prosthetist. Her interest in prosthetics and orthotics began when she was a junior in college after getting the opportunity to shadow a local prosthetist.

Laura completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA (go Hokies!). Laura earned her Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2024. She then stayed in Dallas, TX for her orthotics residency where she worked with multiple clinicians seeing a variety of patient presentations. Some highlights of her orthotic training include cranial remolding orthoses for deformational and synostotic head shapes, custom carbon fabrication techniques, and CAD Modeling/3D printed technology.

She returned to North Carolina in 2026 to complete her prosthetics residency and be closer to family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, playing golf, and attending Canes games.
