Gena Caldwell
MSPO, Resident
Gena grew up in rural northwestern Pennsylvania. Her interest in prosthetics and orthotics began in junior high school after watching the movie, “Dolphin Tale”, the story of a dolphin regaining its ability to swim by using a prosthetic tail. After shadowing a local prosthetist, she knew she wanted to pursue this as her career.
She graduated from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, then completed her master’s in Prosthetics & Orthotics at the University of Pittsburgh. During college, she became interested in 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CAD modeling. She started her residency at Del Bianco Prosthetics & Orthotics in September 2024. She enjoys being able to learn and work with experienced clinicians while striving to provide exceptional patient care.
Gena enjoys many hobbies, including painting, weightlifting, music/concerts, and longboarding.
